Alice P. Coen, 90, a Tacoma resident for 55 years, died yesterday.  She was 
born in Issaquah.  Survivors include a son, Wesley F.; a daughter, Mrs. Lynn 
(Betty) Mortenson, seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.  Mountain 
View Funeral Home is in charge. 

Additional Comments:
Alice's mother, Phoebe FRIEND EDWARDS, died near her birthdate and Alice was 
raised by her maternal grandparents, John and Esther (Jenkins) FRIEND in 
Issaquah and Centralia, WA.  Her brothers, Joseph and William, were raised by 
her father, Joseph Ralph EDWARDS. ALICE PHOEBE EDWARDS was born July 16, 1891 
in Issaquah, King, WA, and died October 13, 1981 in Tacoma, Pierce, WA.  She 
married HARRY AUSTIN COEN Abt. 1922.  He was born September 12, 1888 in Eagle 
Bend, Todd, Minnesota, and died October 28, 1945 in Tacoma, Pierce, Washington.

Children of ALICE EDWARDS and HARRY COEN are (Dorothy and Bettie are Harry's 
children from his 1st marriage, but Alice raised them as her daughters):
i.	DOROTHY R. COEN, b. November 1918, Tacoma, Pierce, WA; d. Bef. 1981; 
m. (1) UNKNOWN RIPKA; m. (2) JOHNNIE MARVIN BRAGET, October 31, 1936, Tacoma, 
Pierce, WA; b. October 16, 1914, Tacoma, Pierce, WA; d. November 06, 1991, San 
Diego County, CA.
ii.	BETTIE GRACE COEN, b. June 13, 1920, Tacoma, Pierce, WA; d. January 
14, 1991, Puyallup, Pierce, WA; m. LYNN L. MORTENSON; b. February 17, 1918, 
Wild Rose, Williams, ND; d. November 21, 2000, Puyallup, Pierce, WA.
iii.	WESLEY FRIEND COEN, b. November 07, 1926, Washington State; d. July 
26, 2003, Tacoma, Pierce, WA.
