Nicholas was born March 18, 1944 in Athens, Greece.

He graduated from Ripon College in Wisconsin; received his Masters from Harvard
and PhD from Princeton.    He taught organic Chemistry at the University of
Washington, Seattle from 1972 to retirement in 2008.

He was married to Linda Daniel.

He was preceded in death by his parents Demetrios and Paraskevi Ipiotou of Athens.

He is survived by his wife Linda; sisters Dr. Maro Nianiou (Nassos) and Dr. Lena
Ipiotou (Giorgos Petrakis); brother-in-law Allen Curtis Daniel; brother-in-law
and sister-in-law Ronald Craig and Sandi Daniel.
