Joseph was born in Sherwood, OR on February 18, 1911 to Joseph Andrew Epler 
and Lora Mable Fletcher.  He was 104 years old when he died.

He served in the Marine Corps Reserves as a pilot of Hell-Divers.  

He was married to Fern Catherine Bennett for 64 years until her death, and 
Marion Clark whom he married when he was 88 for 15 years until her death.

He is survived by his son John (Jean), son-in-law Jerry Cooper.
