Library Custodian Dies, Rites Held.  Funeral services were held Saturday for 
George H. Friend, 79, custodian of the Renton Library for many years.  Rites 
were conducted by members of the Renton Eagles with George Thomas officiating 
in Faull Renton Funeral Home.  A resident of Renton for the past 65 years, Mr. 
Friend has been a member of the Eagles for 47 years.  Interment was in Mt. 
Olivet Cemetery.  Before becoming library custodian, Mr. Friend was a miner.  
Survivors include a wife, Edith, Renton; a brother, Walter, Centralia, and a 
sister, Mrs. Sarah A. Robertson, Centralia.

Parents: John and Esther (JENKINS) FRIEND.  GEORGE HENRY FRIEND born November 
25, 1875 in Gloucester, England, and died December 16, 1954 in Renton, King, 
WA.  He married EDITH FRANCES HUNTER December 06, 1902 in Nanaimo, B.C., 
Canada.  She was born April 21, 1885 in Nanaimo, British Columbia, Canada, and 
died May 02, 1974 in Renton, King, WA.  No children.
