Virginia was born on August 20, 1915 in Washington DC to Irving Humes and Grace 
Scranage Humes.

She is survived by her children Veronica Jones and Juanita Galloway 
(Washington).

She was preceded in death by her daughter Grace Jaecksch in 1986, by her son 
Josiah Hill III in 2000, and by her husband of 64 years, Adelbert K. Galloway.
