John was born to Matthew and Emma Growcott Gibson on June 11, 1926 in 
Shenandoah, PA.   

He graduated with a Graduate degree from Boston University School of 
Theology in 1951.

John married Margaret Amelia Botwright.

John served as minister in Stoughton Congregational church for two years, 
and then had a 40 year ministry at Plymouth Congregational Church (Seattle).   
He was instrumental in organizing Pilgrim Firs camp, Eastgate Congregational 
Church and Horizon House.
