Gilbert was born June 8, 1922 in Seattle to Gilbert P. Haight, Sr and Ruth
Gazzam Haight.

He was the grandson of the Bainbridge Island pioneer, Warren Gazzam.

After High School he attended Stanford University and then Princeton where he
received his PhD in Chemistry in 1946.

During World War II he worked on the Manhattan Project as part of his PhD research.

Dr. Haight is survived by his wife Shirley, daughters Jennifer, Sandy, Stephanie
and son Chad.

Two children Sherry and Christopher preceded him in death.
