Joan was born in Seattle on February 26, 1927 to Dwight and Josephine 
Ingram.

In 1948 she joined the US Naval Reserves as a nurse.

She married Marlyn "Dick" Hemmingsen on March 6, 1948.

Joan was preceded in death by her husband Dick, son David, her parents, and 
sister Judith Sterrett.

She is survived by her daughter-in-law Penny (David), daughter Debbie (Mike) 
Durr, sons Randy (Molly), Rick, and Doug; brother-in-law Dale Hemmingsen, 
and sister-in-law Annette Hemmingsen.
