Robert was 78 at the time of his death.

He completed ROTC at the University of Washington and served in the US Army
completing his tour of duty as a Captain.

He is survived by his daughter Rev. Amy Hitchens and his sister Beverly Morgan.

He was preceded in death by his twin brother Richard Grayland Hitchens and his
mother Hazel Emily Bishop.
