David was born in Seattle to Marcia and Ples Lee Irwin.

He married Judy Gamble in 1981.

He is survived by his wife Judy; children Julia and Anna; brother John (Angela)
and sisters Anne Johnson (Tom Gordon), Victoria Irwin (Lee Jones) and Jill
Irwin; uncle Robert Bowman (Sylvia); brothers-in-law Mike Gamble and Tim Gamble
(Teresa); step-brothers Rodger and Ron Clawson.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his step-mother Bonnie; aunts Betty
Jean Rutten and Lindabel Bowman, and by  his parents-in-law Lee and Alice Gamble.
