DEATHS

JOHNSON

Millard E. Johnson met a sudden and unlooked for death last Friday night,
February 7,1930,when he was killed by a large rock that fell on him while he
was working in mine No.7 here. Mr Johnson had been a resident of Higginsville 
for about 20 years,and for the past 15 years has worked most of the time for 
the Farmers Fuel Company of this place.

At the time of his death the deceased was 52 years old, eight months, and 27 
days old. The body was brought to his home in the south part of town and
funeral services were held Monday afternoon, February 10,at the Baptist Church 
in Higginsville, conducted by the Rev, R.M. Webdell. Burial was made in the 
city cemetery.

He is survived by his wife; one son, Lester; four daughters, Mrs.(Edith) 
Norwood Richardson, Misses Irene, Virginia and Wille of the home; three 
brothers, Chas.E. Johnson of Slatter, (Leander)  Clarence Johnson of Byron, 
Mo.,and Avery Johnson of Washington,Mo.,four sisters, Mrs.(Margaret) Clem 
Miller of Marshall, Mrs.(Roberta)A.P. Marts of Union, Mo.; Mrs.(Clara Elsie) 
Virgil Lilly of Mustang, Colo., and  Mrs.(Cora May) George Barbrik of Belle, 
Mo., besides a host of other relatives, and many friends in Higginsville, who 
will sympathize with the family for their  loss.

Spouse:Katie Florence Lilly(1884-1963).
Buried at Higginsville City Cemetery beside wife and grandson 
Ishmael Norwood Richardson,Jr who died in infancy,and wife's brother
John Presley Lilly.
