Jean was born in 1932 to Irene Ichino and George Yoshito Kawachi on Bainbridge
Island, WA.

During World War II they were interned at Tule Lake Relocation Center in Idaho.

She married Shuzo Chris Kato and they were married 53 years at the time of his
death.

Jean is survived by children Cindi Yokoyama (Rick), Kent Kato (Bonita), Diana
Celle (Steve), Rose Gyotoku (Lance); brother Gary Kawachi; in-laws Hideo Kato,
Janet Kato, Lillian Kato, Toshie Suyama and Kathryn Suyama;
