Vernon was born in Seattle, WA on May 31, 1936 to Virgil Eugene and Charlotte
Elsie (Gramps) Mackie.

He served with the Seattle Police Department, retiring in 1989 as Sergeant
Detective.

He is survived by his daughter Regan Campbell (Doug); daughters-in-law Elaine
Mackie (Bart), Tracey Mackie (Brent); brother-in-law Michael Feckley.

He was preceded in death by his brother Clyde Mackie; sister Janeace Feckley
(Michael), and sons Brent Mackie, Bradley Mackie and Bart Mackie.
