John was born July 24, 1926 to Rex and Gladys Mahoney in Heartwell, NE.   

John was married for 55 years to Nancy Voigt Mahoney, who preceded him in 
death in 2010.

He is survived by his daughter Kathryn Teixeria, and sons John (Tracy) and 
Patrick.

He was predeceased by his wife, his daughter Marianne Mahoney and his sister 
Mary Adler.
