Parents: John "Jake" Cornelius MANNION (1885-1961) and Serafina "Sadie" Marguerite FEIRER (1894-1966). Siblings: John Redmond MANNION, Irene Norberta MANNION MERCER BAILEY; Elaine Cecilia MANNION JOHNSON; Doris Marie MANNION FRIZZELL; and Rita Margaret MANNION TARGUS (all born in Erie, PA). Jake was sent by Hammermill Paper Company to manage the paper mill in Grays Harbor, WA. In 1930, the family moved from Erie, PA to Aberdeen, WA where he graduated from Wetherwax High School. Danny joined the Army during WWII and was wounded in the Phillipines. Following his discharge, he went to St. Martin's College in Olympia, Thurston, WA earning a degree in music education. He taught music briefly in the Tumwater, Thurston, WA school system and was married in Olympia, Thurston, WA. He subsequently moved to Seattle and started a building management company. An extreme extrovert (and center of the party), he enjoyed fishing, clamming, his old pickup truck, motorcycles, friendly wagering and escapades, sports, and people. He coached three sports a year. He was in poor health the last three years of his life. His funeral was standing room only in the large chapel with the crowd spilling into the hall.
