Byron was born June 6, 1923 in Yakima, WA to W. B. and Cecille Meyers.

He enlisted in the Navy and was discharged in 1946.

He married Glenna Mae O'Leary in 1946, and won the opportunity to homestead a
farm in the lottery for returning veterans.    They fulfilled the requirements
of the Homestead Act.

Byron is survived by his wife of 69 years, Glenna Mae and daughter-in-law Wendy.
  He was preceded in death by his sons Timothy and Scott, and by his brother Bill.
