Paul was born in San Francisco, CA, but spent most of his childhood in 
Kimball, NE.

He earned a Ph.D. in Physics from MIT and moved to Seattle to work at the 
University of Washington, until his retirement in 2005.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years Sara, son Paul Jr. (Barb), daughters 
Alison Wash (Bob), Emily Hutcherson (Phil), Carolyn Holtzen (Mark); sister 
Jane Quinette.
