Sylvia was born May 1, 1920 in O'Brien, Texas, the youngest of 8 children.

She is survived by her husband Virgil to whom she was married 74 years at the
time of her death.

She is also survived by sons Gary and David; daughter-in-law Maitri Sojourner.
