Richard was born November 2, 1930 in Seattle.

He married Hazel on April 2, 1955 (no maiden name given).

He taught school in Oakville in 1953 and then at South Central School 
District.   In 1957 he began teaching and coaching for the Seattle School 
District, serving at Cleveland, West Seattle, Lincoln and Chief Sealth, 
retiring in 1992.

Dick is survived by his wife Hazel, and children Barbara (Frank) Hoffman, 
Richard (Marianne), Martha (Steve) Harkness and Matthew (Sandra).
