Jean was born November 23, 1925 in Nebraska to Elsie Martin and Ray Martin.

She worked in the Kaiser Shipyard in Vancouver, WA during World War II.

She married Arthur Carpenter in 1946, but later divorced.   In 1954 she married
Ralph Rasmussen.

Her children included Richard Carpenter, Ray Rasmussen, Kerri Buttts, and Ron
Rasmussen.
