Walter was born November 6, 1930 to Edna and Max Schoenfeld in Seattle, WA

He served as a lieutenant in the Korean War.

He married Esther Behar and they were married 60 years at the time of his death.

He is survived by his wife Esther; children Lea Anne, Jeff and Gary; their
spouses Randy Ottinger, Julie Schoenfeld and Michelle Schoenfeld.

He created Britannia Sportswear, and was a founding member of three of Seattle's
sports teams: SuperSonics, Sounders and Mariners.
