LaVonne was born March 14, 1924 in Portland, OR to Dorothy Elizabeth Ann Rooper
and David Crabtree.  Her mother died when she was eleven.

She met Andrew V. Smith in high school and they were married 58 years until his
death in 2001.

LaVonne is survived by her son Jim (Anne)and daughter Jan (Bill).
