Funeral services for Carl Swanson, 75, of Issaquah, were held Saturday at 2:00 p.m. from the Issaquah Funeral Home. The Reverend William L. Reid officiated. Mr. Swanson was born March 19, 1880 in Sweden. He came to Issaquah in 1896 and made his home with his sister, Mrs. Thilda Becker. Later he worked out of Seattle on ships that went to leading ports all over the world. During World War I he worked as a longshoreman on the Seattle waterfront. Then for a time he worked in a mill near Preston. Later he returned to Seattle and worked for Crane and Co. until he retired in 1945 when he returned to Issaquah. He is survived by one sister, Mrs. Augusta Friend of Centralia and four nieces and three nephews. He was known to everyone as "Uncle Carl." Interment was at Hillside Cemetery Additional Comments: SURNAME orginally "SVENSSON." CARL GUSTAV SVENSSON was born March 19, 1880 in Sweden, and died November 30, 1955 in Seattle, King, WA.
