Elsie was born in 1937 to Hiroyuki and Kiyoko Tanaka, at Olaa (now Keaau) 
Hawaii.

She married USAF Lieutenant Shokichi Tokita in 1961.

She is survived by her husband on 54 years, her son Kurt, her daughter Kara, 
and two sisters Naomi Matsumoto  and Beverly Kanda.
