All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************ Contributed by: Shelli Steedman 4/20/2007 Bud Ferguson, 70, native valley resident, died Tuesday [April 5, 1983] at Kittitas Valley Community Hospital. Born in Kittitas on Aug. 30, 1912, Ferguson was the son of the late Benjamin and Nora (Wyatt) Ferguson. He was raised and lived his entire life on the home place on Ferguson Road. Ferguson was an accomplished farrier and followed the Pacific Northwest Race Track Circuit for 50 years shoeing race horses. He served Portland Meadows, Longacres, Yakima Meadows and Playfair. He also serviced tracks in Coeur d'Alene and Spokane. In the off-season Ferguson worked at his trade in the Kittitas Valley. He is survived by his wife, the former Norma Perry, whom he married on Oct. 30, 1949, and two sisters, Mrs. Robert (Gwendolyn) Cooke and Mrs. Jim (Edith) Thomas, all of Ellensburg. Funeral will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Evenson Chapel. The Rev. Jim Finkbeiner will officiate and burial will follow at the IOOF Cemetery.
