Prater, 58-year-old, well-known farmer, at his home on the West Side. Mr. Prater was born on October 23, 1878, on the West Side, on a farm near that on which he lived for most of his adult life and resided there and in Ellensburg throughout his life. For a short time he operated an automobile agency in Ellensburg. He was married to Miss Alice Harrell on August 10, 1904. He is survived by his widow; a son, Dorsey Prater of Ellensburg; a daughter, Mrs. Glen Kelly of Falls City; a brother C. C. Prater of Ellensburg; three sisters Mrs. M. M. Wangeman and Mrs. J. M. Prater of Ellensburg and Mrs. Clara J. Noel of Tacoma and one grandson. Mr. Prater was one of the West Side's best-known pioneer residents. He was a lifelong member of the Methodist Church, where funeral services will be held on Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock with the Rev. F. L. Pedersen in charge. [IOOF Cemetery]
