Schnebly, long time valley rancher, passed away early today [February 21, 1967] at the Kittitas Valley Memorial Hospital. He was 81. He was born Feb. 2, 1886 in Walla Walla and came to the Kittitas Valley at the age of 2 with his parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. C. P. Schnebly. Mr. Schnebly married the former Stella Barnhart Nov. 16, 1910 and they made their home and ranched in the Fairview District until his retirement in 1962. He was a member of the First Methodist Church, a Charter Member of the Kittitas County Farm Bureau, and a member of the Kittitas County Cattlemen's Association. In addition to his wife, Stella, of Rt. 3, Mr. Schnebly is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Frank (Phyllis) Armstrong, Tacoma; and Mrs. L. N. (Mary) Mullen, Kittitas; five grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, two sisters; Mrs. E. E. Barnhart, Ellensburg; and Mrs. A. J. Metcalf, Seattle; and one brother, Henry Schnebly of Thorp. Funeral services will be held Friday at Evanson Funeral Chapel, the Rev. Albert Sweet, officiating. Cremation will follow at Terrace Heights Memorial Park in Yakima. [Buried in the IOOF Cemetery in Ellensburg]. The family suggests that those wishing to send memorials may send them to the First Methodist church, Third and Ruby, or to the Heart Fund, in care of Mrs. Emil Erickson, Rt. 2.
