Schnebly, pioneer resident of the Kittitas Valley, who died Friday at Bernath's Nursing Home. Mrs. Schnebly, 80, was born August 8, 1885, in Copenhagen, Denmark and came with her parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. James P. Nelson. They lived in the Fairview District until 1934, when she and her husband, Frank Schnebly, moved to Ellensburg to make their home at 101 W. Eighth. The Schneblys were married September 27, 1905 in Ellensburg and Mr. Schnebly preceded her in death April 12, 1955. Mrs. Schnebly, who had been in ill health for the past year, was a member of the Presbyterian Church, the Presbyterian Women's Circle, the Kittitas County Historical Society and was active in various community affairs for many years. She is survived by a son, Henry J. Schnebly of Ellensburg; two daughters, Mrs. Juanita Smith and Mrs. Loila Charlton, both of Ellensburg; a brother, John O. Nelson of Kittitas; eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren. The Rev. William R. Van Ness will officiate and funeral services and burial will be in the IOOF Cemetery. The family suggests that memorials be sent to the First Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund, 1307 E. Third.
