He was born March 18, 1974, in Lincoln, Neb., and moved to Dallesport as a young child. He attended Dallesport grade schools and graduated from Lyle High School in 1992. He moved to Seattle after graduating from high school to begin an adventure of college, working, playing and traveling. He worked for the University of Washington's Department of Computer Science and Engineering as their Sr. Systems Engineer/Architecture Designer. He was also Founder & CEO of TechWolf Networks Inc. Some of his favorite hobbies were world traveling, running, hiking, scuba diving, riding his motorcycles, and his newest pleasure, flying. His biggest enjoyment in life was his family and friends. He is survived by his mom and dad, Tom and Debby Turner, Dallesport; his mother, Cordia Merrick, Tum Tum, Wash.; his sister, Sheena Hewitt, Dallesport; his sisters, Jawea Isaccson with husband, Kurt, Everett, Wash.; Angle Howell with husband Dennis, Wenatchee, WA.; and two brothers, Scott Turner with wife, Malynda; Steven Turner with wife, Gina, Idaho City, Idaho; his Grammy Blevins, The Dalles; Grandpa and Grandma McGeorge, Phoenix, Ariz.; Grandpa and Grandma Dykes, Yuma, Ariz.; Grandpa and Grandma Fischman, Nickerson, Neb.; seven nephews, Brandon, Blake, Skyler, Wyatt, Clayton and Quinton and one niece, Grace. He is also survived by many uncles, aunts, cousins, friends and co-workers that will miss him immensely. Jimmy was preceded in death by his Father, James A. Hewitt Sr. and his Grandpa Blevins. Funeral services for James A. Hewitt Jr. will be held on Saturday, Aug. 16, 2003, at Spencer, Libby and Powell Funeral Home at 1 p.m. Private viewing will be Friday, Aug. 15 from 6 to 7 p.m. for the family and 7 to 8 p.m. for his friends, and again from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday. A second memorial is tentatively planned for Saturday, Aug. 23, at the Washington Park Arboretum Graham Visitors Center from 1 to 3 p.m. Memorials may be made to the James Hewitt Scholarship Fund, Dept. of Computer Science & Engineering, Box 352350, University of Washington, Seattle, WA 98195. Checks should be made payable to: University of Washington. This scholarship will go towards an annual undergraduate degree in Computer Science and Engineering.
