The Centralia, Washington Daily Chronicle
Crushed to Death

Aberdeen, Dec 29 -- John Herbstritt, 59, water pump man for Saginaw Logging 
company, was instantly killed yesterday about six miles above the company's 
Brooklyn camp when he was crushed beneath the wheels of a logging train.  He 
apparently failed to hear the train as it rounded a turn, fellow workers said. The 
engine and one truck of the train passed over him.

The accident occurred in Pacific county and South Bend officials were notified.  
He is survived by a wife, two sons and two daughters.  The body was brought here.
