It is along the road and easily accessible. The old Kallenberg School was in this neighborhood, as was the Zion Church. Going about 9 miles north from Odessa on Highway 21, take Schummer Road west for about 5 1/2 miles, then south on Janke Road to Lentz Road. Go another mile to the cemetery on the south side of the road. Once off Highway 21, the road is gravel, but in good shape. Many of the stones are similar in color, shape, cut and design, leading me to think that these are replacement stones. Also, all the graves are on the north side of the cemetery, neatly lined up in rows. In the south- west corner sits a concrete bench, dedicated to "Mom and Dad," Edna and Fred. It is obivious that this is a family cemetery as 20 of the 24 burials are by the name of Lentz. The earliest burials were in 1903 and the latest in 1993. One serviceman, Solomon Lentz, a WW II vet, is buried here. More than 1/3 of the burials are of children. The cemetery was read on Oct. 10, 1999 by Pat Rice and Marge Womach. The cemetery was read beginning at the northeast corner, reading the rows as reading a book. To find a particular name, use the Find or Search feature under Edit in your Browser.
