On the west side of State Highway 101, near the northern side of Stony Point. This fenced-off area used to be the burial grounds for the Tokeland ("Toke") Indians. It was also the site of the J.W. Charles Russell Trading Post. In the mid 1800's this property was used in the oyster trade, and both Indian and white folk were housed along the beach. CARCUMCUM, d.
