Now a part of Lakewood Memorial Gardens,a cemetery which has received very little 
patronage, is located west of Home of Peace and north of Hillhaven Convalescent Home.  
Although many burials were made there in early days, the only visible indication now 
is a monument base 12 inches high by 16 inches square beside which, lying on the 
ground, is the monument itself about 12 or 14 inches square and 4 or 5 feet high 
with a nob at the top and bearing the following inscription: 

Mary S.

wife of

John Cowger

died

June 26, 1894

aged

70 years
