Alice P. Coen, 90, a Tacoma resident for 55 years, died yesterday.  She was 
born in Issaquah.  Survivors include a son, Wesley F.; a daughter, Mrs. Lynn 
(Betty) Mortenson, seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.  Mountain 
View Funeral Home is in charge.

(1888-1945); d.October 13, 1981 Tacoma, Pierce, WA; bu.Mt. View Cemetery, 
Centralia, WA.  
Parents: Joseph Ralph EDWARDS (1862-1953) and Phoebe FRIEND (1868-1891); 
raised by maternal grandparents John and Esther FRIEND (Issaquah, WA; 
Centralia, WA).  In some records, she is incorrectly listed as Alice FRIEND.  
Her brother, Joseph, was raised by her father.  
CHILDREN:  Dorothy COEN RIPKA (1918-bef.1981); Bettie Grace COEN MORTENSON 
(1920-1991); and Wesley Friend COEN (1926-2003).
