The old Greenwood Cemetery in Everett is NOT an Indian Cemetery. The land was offered by the Everett Land Company in January 1894 to the City of Everett as the Official City Cemetery - and so people would quit burying their dead in the temporary cemetery that the land company offered off of Broadway. Everyone who was buried in the temporary cemetery was disinterred and reburied in Greenwood and until Evergreen opened in 1898, it is thought that most Everett citizens were buried in Greenwood. As of now, I haven't been able to find any cemetery records; the city hasn't been too accomodating in my research of the cemetery (all the above information has been gleaned from the 1894 City Council records and the Everett Herald). At this time, I have been documenting those buried through the death records. I have around 65 people, who I know for sure were buried there, but have no idea if and when they were disinterred and reburied.
