Betty Jean Fowler, 86, of Longview died March 16, 2006. 

She was born Feb. 28, 1920, in LaGrange, Ind., to Russell and Bernice 
(Olmstead) Zimmerman. The family moved to Ellensburg, Wash., and later, Kelso, 
where she attended school. 

On June 22, 1937, she married Gilbert Fowler in Kelso. 

Mrs. Fowler worked out of her home, assembling nets for local commercial 
fishermen. 

She is survived by her husband of 68 years; a son, Russell Fowler; two 
daughters, Patricia Tolbert and Jennie Spicknall; two sisters, Margie Bickford 
and Sylvia Johnson; a brother, George Zimmerman; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-
grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. 

At her request, no service will be held. 

Memorial contributions may be made to the Community Home Health & Hospice, P.O. 
Box 2067, Longview, WA 98632. 

Arrangements are by Columbia Funeral Service.
