Mornign Oregonian October 5,1904
South Bend,Wash.,Oct.5-(Special)- Captain John Riddell, a resident of this 
county for many years, died last evening on board the steamer Sequoia, while 
coming up from San Fransisco. The deceased was 68 years of age and had 
followed the seas most of his lifetime. He leaves two sons,residents of this 
county. he possessed a great deal of propertry, mostly oyster and tide lands. 
the masons wll conoduct the funeral tomorrow morning.
