Mr. BAUER came from Germany to America in 1830. Stopped in New York City seven years. Removed from there to Walworth County, Wisconsin, where he resided about nine years, when he removed to Adams county and settled in the town of Jackson, which place has ever since been his home until his death. He received a paralytic stroke about two years before his death, from which he never recovered. He left two sons and one daughter. Mr. BAUER was a devout member of the German Lutheran church. No more fitting epitaph could be written for him than the simple statement, he lived consistently with his profession.
