Obituary: Adams County, Wisconsin: Anna BURIAN ************************************************************************ Submitted by Joan Benner, May 2005 © All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************************************ Adams County Press, 14 January 1911, Page 1 Mrs. Anton Burian Anna Serbus was born in Bohemia, Austria, June 1st, 1832, and was married to Anton Burian in 1865. An adopted son, John Burian, is left to mourn her death. She also leaves several nephews and nieces and five grandchildren. Mrs. Burian and her husband came to this country in 1870, stopping at New London, Conn., for two months, then coming west to Chicago, living there for eleven months. Then coming to Friendship, Adams county, making their home there for four years. In 1875 they purchased a farm in the town of Lincoln, where she has since resided. She was preceded in death about sixteen years by her husband, and since that time she has resided in the old residence near that of her son. She passed away Saturday, January 7th, and the funeral was held at the residence of her son. The interment was in the South Burr Oak cemetery. Mrs. Burian had been a hard working, kindly woman, who took pride in her family and home, and had lived a long and useful life, standing high in the regard of her acquaintances.
