Obituary: Adams County, Wisconsin: Elizabeth CAMPBELL ************************************************************************ Submitted by Joan Benner, May 2005 © All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************************************ From the Adams County Press, Volume XXXI, Number 16, Saturday 26 September 1891, Page 5 Elizabeth CAMPBELL whose death was briefly announced in the Press last week, was born in Campsie, Sterlingshire, Scotland, September 28th, 1820. Her maiden name was Elizabeth SCOTT. On the 13th day of July, 1838, She was married to John CAMPBELL, of Argyleshire. Twelve years later they emigrated to America, and subsequently made their home in the town of Easton, in this county. In the community where they resided they were ever regarded as people of sterling character and worth. Five children were born to them of whom only two survive--John CAMPBELL the eldest and Mrs. Lizzie WITTER the youngest, both of Easton. John CAMPBELL, senior, died August 24, 1884, at his home in Easton, and his widow six years and three weeks after, went to join him in the Great Beyond. Of her it can be truthfully said, her life was a blessing to many and her death is regretted by all who knew her.
