Obituary: Adams County, Wisconsin: Anna CATCHIM ************************************************************************ Submitted by Joan Benner, May 2005 © All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************************************ From the Friendship Reporter, Thursday, April 21, 1921, Page 1 Anna MILLER was born June 10th, 1824 in Monogham County, Ulster, Ireland and died at the home of her son, Oscar, April 16, 1921. In 1841 she came to America, landing in New York, where she lived for several years, going from there to Cayuta, New York. She was united in marriage to Albert CATCHIM October 25th, 1851. To this union seven children were born, five of whom are now living: Mrs. Mary McMAHON, Mrs. Alvina EBSON, and Oscar of the Town of Lincoln, Mrs. Amanda DeMOTT of Adams, and Mrs. Myrtle BABCOCK of Ellendale, North Dakota, William dying in infancy and Douglas at the age of fourteen. Her husband died September 21st, 1901. In 1856 they moved from New York state to the town of Lincoln, where they have since made their home. Early in her life she joined the Christian Church of New York, and shortly after coming to Wisconsin she united with the Free Baptist of Pleasant Prairie, and of which she has ever remained a faithful member. Mrs. CATCHIM was a woman of kindly disposition, always ready and willing to help those in distress. Funeral services were held at the home of her son, Oscar, on Tuesday, April 19th, Rev. Thomas Barker officiating, Interment was in the Rock cemetery.
