Obituary: Adams County, Wisconsin: Mary P. CAVANAUGH ************************************************************************ Submitted by Joan Benner, May 2005 © All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************************************ From the Adams County Press, Saturday January 20, 1894, Page 5 Died--CAVANAUGH--At the residence of her son, P. A. CAVANAUGH, in the Town of Lincoln. Mary P., the beloved wife of Charles A. CAVANAUGH, after long illness caused by the final stroke of paralysis, Monday January 8th. Mrs. CAVANAUGH was born in the town of Vernon, Sussex County, New York, on the 16th of December, 1826. Married to Mr. CAVANAUGH on the 29th of August, 1850, in Dryden, Tomkins County, New York. She was the mother of five children, two dying in infancy. Her remaining children reside as follows: Wilmot R. in New Chester, Perry A. in Lincoln, and Daniel J. at Necedah. The family settled in this county, in the Town of Lincoln, 23 years since. When about 14 years of age, Mrs. CAVANAUGH united with the M.E. church, since which there is every reason to believe she recognized the love, presence and care of our Heavenly Father. This was frequently seen during her long illness. The husband has parted with a good wife and companion and the children with an affectionate mother, and the neighborhood with a good neighbor, and while we express our sympathy with the bereaved in their loss, none could wish her back to this mortal scene of suffering and disappointment.
