L. CHILSON, father of Dr. B. CHILSON, died at his home in Oxford, April 30, 1895. Deceased was well known in Adams county, where he had many friends, who will sincerely mourn his death. We copy the following from local exchanges: "Sharon Reporter": A telegram called Mr. Al. CHILSON to Oxford, Wisconsin last Monday, to see his father, Allansing CHILSON, to be with him during the last hours of his illness--heart trouble and paralysis--but arrived about an hour too late, his father passing away Tuesday at 9:30 a.m., aged 71 years. Mr. CHILSON was a resident of the Town of Sharon for about forty years, but has been making his home with his son, Dr. Benj. CHILSON, of Oxford, Wisconsin, the past eight years. He was born in Glen, Montgomery county, New York, February 22, 1824, and came west in 1840. Was married to Elizabeth SMITH, who preceded him to the grave about thirty years ago. He leaves two sons and one daughter, besides a host of friends and acquaintances to mourn his departure. His remains will arrive here tomorrow (Friday) afternoon, and will be taken to the residence of his son, Alfred, on the State Line. The funeral services will be held at the house and at the Lutheran church, Rev. L. L. Lipe officiating, with burial in the Oakwood cemetery under the auspices of Sharon Lodge No. 116, F. and A. M., of which deceased was an honored member. "Westfield Central Union": Deceased was the father of Dr. B. CHILSON and for a number of years he has assisted in the drug store here, taking charge in the Doctor's absence. Thus brought into association with the public, he became well known and highly respected by this entire community. Mr. CHILSON was born at Esperance, Scholarlie county, New York, on the 22nd day of February, 1824. He died in the 72nd year of his age. He came to Sharon, Wisconsin, about 45 years ago. He was married to Elizabeth SMITH, who died in 1864, leaving three children in his care. tenderly and carefully, he brought them up, and all three are left behind to mourn his loss. One, Alfred, is at the old home in Sharon. Another, Mrs. WEAVER, is the wife of a druggist at Prairie du Sac, and the third if Dr. B. CHILSON, the well known physician at Oxford. Funeral services, conducted by Rev. J. S. Wilson, were held at the house, and the remains were taken to Sharon for burial. Mr. CHILSON is a member of the Masonic order, the brethren of which attended the funeral in large numbers.
