WI], Friday March 21, 1902, Page 5 Thursday evening, March 13, 1902, George EACHOR, one of the most respected citizens of the Town of Leola, Adams Co., passed away. His death was very sudden, as only the Saturday before he was in Plainfield doing business. Mr. EACHOR was born at Boonville, state of New York, July 17, 1857. He came to Wisconsin with his parents at the age of 14, and with them settled near Mosquito Bluff, in Portage County. Spending some time in Nebraska, he returned to this state in 1896, to the place which was his home when he died.February 10, 1878, he was married to Nancy APPLEBEE. To this union were born three children, two sons and one daughter. There is left to mourn his loss his aged parents, Josiah and Martha EACHOR, his wife and two sons, William and Charles. When a young man, he united with the Methodist church and in that faith he lived for many years, when he united with the Baptist, along with his wife and parents. Mr. EACHOR spared no pains to make preparations for both time and eternity.Just a few months before he died he united with the Modern Woodmen of America. The funeral was in charge of the Plainfield Lodge of Modern Woodmen, who conducted their ritualistic ceremony at the grave. The funeral was Sunday, many of the friends and Modern Woodmen going to the house and escorting the remains to the town hall at Campbell’s Corners, where the service was conducted by Rev. M. E. Bailey, of the Baptist church of Plainfield. The interment followed at the Plainfield cemetery. Mr. EACHOR was well known and greatly respected as an honorable Christian gentleman. He served one term as Justice of the Peace and two terms as Assessor of the Town of Leola, filling the offices with credit to himself and satisfaction to his neighbors. Mr. EACHOR’s ready hand and helpful influence will be greatly missed, especially among the residents of the Town of Leola. (Card of thanks from Mrs. Nancy EACHOR and family followed the obit)
