Obituary: Adams County, Wisconsin: Ole HOLM ************************************************************************ Submitted by Joan Benner, May 2005 © All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************************************ From the Thursday July 29, 1920 Necedah Republican, Page 4 Unexpected, indeed, was the sudden death of Ole HOLM of Holmsville, who died on Wednesday afternoon, July 21, 1920, at his home. Two of his sons who live in Deerfield, Wisconsin, reached their father just a few minutes before he passed away, but his son Robert, residing at Evanston, Illinois, arrived a few minutes late. In his demise Adams county has laid to rest another of its prominent citizens. He was one of the members of the honored pioneer family of Holmsville, from which the village has received its name. The funeral services were held at the Trinity Lutheran church of Roche-A- Cree July 24, 1920, in the afternoon, Rev. A. J. Raftshol officiating. Interment was made in the cemetery south of the church. Deceased was born in Holmsville on the 29th day of May, 1873, and was a member of the Lutheran church. He was married in 1899 to Miss Inga SOLEY of Strongs Prairie township. Their union was blessed with three sons: Orlando Clyde, Gilmore Goodwin and Mellon Otis. Their mother died January 21, 1910. Besides his aged mother, Guri, and his three sons, deceased is survived by four brothers: Robert of Evanston, Illinois, Isak of Arkdale, and Christian and Carl of Holmsville; and three sisters: Mrs. Gurene AUSLAND and Mrs. Bennie ENERSON of Arkdale and Miss Anna HOLM of Holmsville. The bereaved family has the sympathy of all in their grief and affliction.
