HOWARD died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. George NEFF in Grand Marsh, on Saturday, November 22nd, following a prolonged illness. Mr. HOWARD came to this county from Waukesha county some twenty-five years ago, and purchased a general mercantile business in White Creek, which is now owned by A. H. GREENWOOD. He conducted the business successfully for a number of years, but the infirmities of age coming on, he sold the business to his sons and moved with his wife to Kilbourn to reside. During his residence in White Creek, he was an active worker in the church at that place, and was known and respected for his honesty and uprightness of character. He was a veteran of the Civil War, and was always interested in G. A. R. matters. Some five or six years ago his wife died, since which time he has made his home amongst his children. Deceased is survived by four children, Mrs. George NEFF of Grand Marsh, Mrs. Frank WITT of Easton, A. C. HOWARD of Rosalia, Washington, and S. H. HOWARD of Kilbourn. Funeral services were held Monday, conducted by Rev. D. W. Barclay of Oxford, and interment was in the Easton cemetery. The children have the sympathy of all in their loss.
