Obituary: Adams County, Wisconsin: Ferdinand F. SCHIEBER ************************************************************************ Submitted by Joan Benner, May 2005 © All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************************************ From the Adams County Press [Friendship, Adams Co., WI], Saturday March 7, 1896, Page 5 Died, at his home in the town of Adams, February 26, 1896, of pneumonia, Ferdinand F. SCHIEBER, aged 41 years, 6 months and 12 days. Ferdinand F. SCHIEBER was born in Waterloo, Jefferson County, Wisconsin, on the 14th day of August, 1854. A few years later, probably not later than 1860, his parents moved from Waterloo to Adams County, and settled in the town of New Chester. It was there that Ferdinand grew to manhood, receiving such educational advantages as the country public schools of the time afforded, but the innate sense of right and integrity of purpose was strongly fixed and a sturdy moral manhood developed in him. On Nov. 4, 1879, he married Miss Amanda CATCHIM, of Lincoln, and the meeting proved a congenial and happy one. Three children blest the union, two of whom survive their father. For a time Mr. SCHIEBER and his family resided in Friendship. Here, as everywhere else, he won the confidence and esteem of the whole community, as an honest man, and a kindly neighbor and friend. The funeral was held from his home on Friday of last week, and was one of the most largely attended ever held in this town. The Friendship Camp of M. W. A., of which the deceased was a member, attended in a body and super- intended the ceremonies. Rev. A. C. Marden conducted the religious services. The estimable and bereaved widow and children have the warmest sympathy of every person who knew him and them. Transcriber's Note: Amanda W. KETCHUM and Ferdinand SCHIEBER's marriage is recorded in Adams County WI marriage records, Volume 2, Page 63
