STRADER Homer H. STAADER (sic) died at Tomah Wis. September 10, 1902, just after an operation which was hoped to save both limb and life, but which proved fatal to life, whose thread had been too feeble by seventeen long weeks of continual pain. All was done that loving care could do but an examination proved that he should have had different medical aid than was given him about five weeks ago, when he had what was then called an attack of indigestion, but which was really septic poisoning. His remains were prepared for burial at Tomah, and brought to Kilbourn on the Wednesday afternoon train. Friday morning, services were held at the home on Dell Prairie Corners: Rev. Holden speaking words appropriate to the occasion, assisted with music by Mrs. Clark and son. On Friday afternoon the remains were followed by friends and neighbors to the C. M. & St. Paul depot, from where they were shipped to Monroe, Green county. Mrs. Homer STRADER and son J. S. STRADER, Bert STRADER and Stanley STRADER accompanying the remains. Services were held at the home of Michael SHANK, [Mrs. STRADER's father] Saturday at 1:30 pm, conducted by Rev. Holden and Rev. Berky, assisted by a choir of young people. The floral offerings were so numerous that he was veritably buried in flowers. All that remained of his temporal body was laid to rest in Greenwood cemetery beside his mother. His life reflected the Savior's life, in his loving disposition, his kind- heartedness, and willingness to forgive an injury. All who came in contact with his life could not but love him
