Her childhood and young womanhood were spent in Norway. She was baptized in infancy and at the age of fourteen she was confirmed in the Lutheran church in that House country. In the year 1881 she came from Norway to America and on Sept. 19th, 1881 she was united in marriage to Ole Knudson. They resided in Chicago about three years. From there they moved to this county and settled at their present dwelling place. This union was blessed with nine children, three of which died in infancy. She leaves to mourn their loss her husband and six children, Minnie Morrison of Chetek, Wisc., Edith at home, Theodore of Ellensberg, Washington; Frank of Grand Marsh; Iver and Ulva at home; and three grandchildren. She died at her home on Rock House Prairie, Nov. 13, 1912. Funeral services were held at the Grand Marsh church, Friday at two o'clock, conducted by Rev. C. V. Robinson, and the remains laid to rest in the Rock cemetery. She was an affectionate wife, a loving mother, a faithful friend and kind neighbor, loved and respected by all who knew her. The whole community sypathizes with the bereaved ones.
