Obituary: Adams County, Wisconsin: Josiah A. VROMAN ************************************************************************ Submitted by Joan Benner, May 2005 © All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************************************ The Adams County Press [Friendship, Adams Co., WI], Saturday April 9, 1892, Page 5 Josiah A. VROMAN, whose death at his home in Jackson, was briefly mentioned in the Press last week, was born in Scholarie County, New York, June 21, 1826. In 1836 he came West, settling in Walworth county in this state. In 1848 he moved to Adams county and has resided here ever since. He gave his country valuable service as a soldeir during the War of the Rebellion, and in civil life discharged all his duties with conscientious fidelity. No man stood higher in the estimation of the community, and his death has left a profound impress upon all who knew him. Something of the sentiments of respect and esteem in which he was held may be inferred from the fact that more than eighty carriages followed his remains to the grave. He was a member of Oxford Lodge F. & A. M. and was buried with the honors of the order, brethren attending from several other Lodges.
